50 New Jobs as Mark Group Opens Depot in Aberdeen

Energy efficiency company Mark Group has opened a depot in Aberdeen with the creation of 50 new jobs.

Mark Group specialises in household loft & cavity wall insulation, solar panels and heat pumps to reduce domestic energy consumption which therefore reduces bills and lowers carbon emissions.

The new depot is in Aberdeen’s Murcar Industrial Estate and the new jobs cover a wide spectrum of roles including branch management, administration and accounts staff to insulatation installers and electrical engineers. Mark Group says whilst some experience from applicants is preferred, it plans to recruit all the new staff locally and provide bespoke training for new employees.

Mark Group says the new depot is a result of its expanding business in Scotland particularly across Aberdeen, Dundee and Inverness.

Lorraine Dunsire of Mark Group said “Up until now, all of our work in Scotland has been managed from our Glasgow Distribution Centre but with the increase in demand for both insulation and renewable options, we have needed to expand.”

Mark Group was established in 1974 and now employs 2,000 people around the world. The company completes around 7,000 insulation projects every week.

N&P Recruits for New Customer Service Jobs in Peterborough

N&P (Norwich & Peterborough) Building Society is recruiting right now for 40 new customer service and team manager jobs in Peterborough.

The new roles in the city centre and also in the town’s Lynch Wood Business Park will be to help the society’s savings and mortgages customers in areas such as setting up direct debits, balance enquiries and lost or stolen ATM card procedures.

N&P – which is a trading name of Yorkshire Building Society – says it has 36 vacancies for Customer Service Advisors and 4 vacancies for Customer Service Team Managers.

N&P is looking for previous experience of working in a customer services environment and it would be ideal if this was gained in the financial services sector.

A competitive salary is on offer plus a good benefits package which includes at least 24 days holiday (plus bank holidays), bonus scheme, pension scheme and subsidised staff investment and mortgage products.

Pecan Launches Peckham Community Project With New Jobs

Peckham based charity Pecan is recruiting for staff to resource a new community project it is starting in April 2012.

Pecan’s motto is “transforming lives, transforming communities” and works with vulnerable and disadvantaged people, in particular the long term unemployed and ex-offenders. Pecan aims to transform their lives and have a resulting positive impact on the communities they live in.

The new project is called Moving On and works with young women on release from prison, helping them to integrate into society and build a positive future for themselves and others around them.

The new jobs are to deliver the Moving On project and are based in Peckham. They include the following vacancies:

Energy Services Firm Proserv Creating 136 New Jobs in 2012

Energy production and services company Proserv has announced it expects to create 136 new jobs during 2012.

Proserv will report a 17% increase in turnover of £112m for the year ending December 2011, up from the previous year’s figure of £96m. Performance growth for 2012 is forecast to be even stronger.

Proserv has been established 35 years and currently employs 800 people in 10 countries with most of its UK operations being in Aberdeen. The company specialises in areas including Subsea, Drilling, Production and Decommissioning.

David Lamont, the Proserv CEO said “We forecast even stronger results for 2012, having secured a number of new contracts and as a result, we will be building on our current global workforce of almost 800 people by a further 17% (approx. 136) to support our current order book and strong sales pipeline.”

Proserv announced a few months ago that it had consolidated three Aberdeen based businesses and two Houston (USA) businesses under the single Proserv brand.

Mr Lamont added “Our focus is to build on our current position, invest in recruitment and the training of our people and continue with the global promotion of our full product and service range into new and existing markets.”

When I checked the Proserv Careers Site today I found 14 immediate UK vacancies, mostly in Aberdeen.

100 New Hospital Support Services Jobs in Enniskillen

100 new jobs are available at the new Western Trust Acute Hospital, just outside Enniskillen in Northern Ireland.

The hospital opens in June 2012 and these particular vacancies are within the hospital’s support service areas including catering, housekeeping, laundry and portering.

Energy supplier npower is recruiting now for 200 new jobs in its contact centres in the North East.

The new vacancies are for Customer Service Advisors (CSA) and Team Managers and are across npower’s locations in Houghton-le-Spring, Peterlee and Thornaby.

npower hopes to fill the jobs by the end of March 2012.

The man in charge of npower’s contact centres, Paul Robinson says the new jobs are a direct result of significant increased demand from customers, and npower hopes to attract a wide variety of applicants from across the region.

For the CSA roles, npower is looking for applicants with customer service experience combined with a helpful personality. The Team Managers will lead and motivate a team of CSAs therefore leadership, coaching and management skills within a customer service environment are sought.

Leading financial services company LV= (Liverpool Victoria) is recruiting now for 50 new staff in Bristol, to start in the first quarter of 2012.

LV=’s Bristol operation handles various aspects of the company’s business such as claims and customer services. LV= already employs over 500 people in Bristol and says that it is planning to announce more new jobs later this year, in addition to the 50 announced now.

Most of the 50 new jobs are in sales and customer services dealing with customer calls regarding car insurance. LV= says it is looking for applicants with a strong background in customer services, good IT skills and the ability to pick up new procedures.

Travelodge to Create 1,000 New Jobs Across UK This Year

Budget hotel company Travelodge is opening over 40 new hotels in the UK during 2012, resulting in the creation of 1,000 new jobs.

The openings this year are part of a Travelodge growth target of operating 1,000 hotels by 2020.

880 of the new jobs will be spread across the 41 new Travelodge hotels around the UK. Eleven of these new hotels opening this year will be in London, with Stratford opening in February, followed in July by the opening of Greenwich and London Excel Centre.

Management Apprenticeship Scheme Aimed at School Leavers

The other 120 new jobs are part of Travelodge’s Junior Management Programme (JuMP). Travelodge says the JuMP scheme is a fast track management apprenticeship programme aimed at school leavers who are keen to explore alternatives to going to university.

JuMP management apprentices receive hands-on training throughout the Travelodge business areas and have opportunities for further education. Travelodge says that successful completion of the JuMP scheme could lead to becoming a hotel manager and a salary of £30,000 in three years.
